The person I thought I was is proof in the power of imagination
First it was a cover up, but I was fooled too, is now the realization
Call out the name you know, but it’s never been mine
It was just the identity of the lie I kept up all this time
At one point I attempted to assume this role
But now I see it was a nice, but unattainable goal
For some time I liked what I’d become
But there’s no running from what’s been done
What once was is set in stone
So while I very much liked it here, it’s time for me to go home
